What is an Allergy?
Basically an allergy is an overreaction of your immune system to a substance(s) that is normally harmless. The allergy may be from Food (proteins), Airborne, Environmental, Pharmacological or other sources.
What are the Symptoms of an Allergy?
Responses or reactions vary pending upon many factors.
Symptoms may occur in one or many body systems:
Dermatological: Skin rash, hives, blisters, eczema, skin irritations, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis.
The main cause of dermatological reactions are allergies/sensitivities to food, but can also be caused by other irritants.
Digestive: Swelling or itching of the lips, mouth, or throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, cramping, abdominal and intestinal pain, acid reflux, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). Respiratory: Congestion, wheezing, cough, sneezing, runny-itchy nose. throat irritation, itchy/watery eyes.
These conditions are often caused by allergies/sensitivities to seasonal changes, animal dander, airborne substances and contaminants.
Tiredness and Fatigue: Dark circles under eyes, puffiness around eyes, lack of energy, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.
Most likely caused by allergies/sensitivities to foods. Many reactions result in lethargy and feelings of fatigue. Tiredness can also occur at certain times of the day, such as in the afternoon after eating.
Hyperactivity & Restlessness: Sleeplessness, trouble maintaining focus, lack of attention span.
Symptoms often associated with ADHD and other disorders can many times be attributed to food allergies/sensitivities. Components such as sugars, vitamins, minerals, glutamate, wheat, soy, amines, salicylates, and yeast are common culprits.
Headaches and Migraines: Head pain, blurred vision, light sensitivity, nausea. Symptoms are most likely caused by allergies or sensitivities to food such as chocolate, caffeine, or airborne irritants such as pollens and chemicals including household cleaners, perfumes, and vehicle fumes.
Symptoms and the Organ System: A sensitivity or inappropriate reaction may cause symptoms from any system in the body. Some systems are prone to reacting to certain families of allergens or substances, such as the respiratory system reacting to pollen. However, a substance may affect any organ systems which could cause a multitude of symptoms varying from case to case. For example, a reaction to wheat may cause hives in one person, digestive issues in another, fatigue, wheezing, or acid reflux in all different patients. The NRG Immune Enhancement System addresses the specific organ systems affected by the allergen or offending substance.
Are there Medical Conditions that may be related to Allergies?
